Thornwoodworks

Thornwoodworks started with the idea that instead of sending logs that were not quite right for the big sawmills to landfills or the burn pile, why not transform those logs into one of a kind pieces of furniture. It started with a kitchen island made from two live edge slabs of a western red cedar on our property. That led to a game board made from a cookie from a nearby cedar, which led to an end table and then… you get the idea.

Today we make game boards, kitchen trays, end tables, and many other products out of logs or stumps that would otherwise be destined for the burn pile or landfill. We try to source as much material as possible directly from local landowners.

We are not a large company with a factory. we don’t import junk from oversees. all of our products are made right here in the Pacific Northwest in the same small shop we started in. We do this because we love woodworking. And having a new crib board design to test every once in a while is just an added bonus.
